After a six week crash course in Painting One…with a class of 20 students …we all managed to come together as coherent group of artists that rocked the foundations of the Painting Studio at USF…we learned that Earth Tones…”Are Where It’s At People”…and “Delicious…Organic…Ginger…and Stupid Insane” are just a few words you can use to describe a painting…
To keep that kinetic energy and unrefined atmosphere… that was produced from such a amazingly talented group of individuals…we created this Blog…to keep our spirits alive…to hold on to the passion of painting…the love of the arts…to sustain…the friendships and bonds that we made in such a short period of time…and… to create a vessel…to encourage…nurture…the artists… the painter …that is craving to expose and express themselves …to the art community
Also…to remember…that Alizarin Crimson…is the new Black

Haha, alizarin crimson is the new black to you, David, haha. I'm fond of raw umber as black, myself.
You can also say it's sick.
And, alizarin crimson + pthalo green is truly black--ask Caroline...
Then there's raw umber + bt siena, or bt siena + ultra blue...
I will have to use the alizarin and pthalo mixture for black...since I'm not a huge fan of straight black...
Sara...raw umber...mmm...that is a little more green to me...but we all have our colors we become attached to...
Hi y'all! This blog is swell. I haven't painted in four whole days and it feels...strange.
can i just say that i'm so glad we are really doing this! how many times have you left a class and said "o.k. we'll keep in touch..." never to see or hear from that person again. this blog is such a great way to not only keep in contact but to continue to hold each other accountable.
david you're introductory post couldn't have captured my sentiments any better. i look forward to see what everyone continues to produce.
