Corporate Crime Suspense Stories

So...after taking a short break...I decide to start up my series of paintings that I have been wanting to finish...The first painting I did in the Spring...the second one I started...but never finished till Friday night...Like I said...I took a short break...I'm working on the third one in the series...these paintings are more graphic and technical for me...so they are a lot harder for me to get moving...I'm going to work on these...and also start a still portrait for my sister...so I can feel the crazy movement of painting...

The concept behind the paintings deals with the old EC Comics of the 1950's and the controversy that the covers and comics caused at the time....People at the time believed that comic books were the major cause of juvenile delinquency...I took symbols of our time...and icons that I feel are major influences in our wonderful pop culture...that have a major impact on our naive youth...and help to create children that can tell you who Ronald McDonald is...but do not have a clue who the first president was or who Jesus is...

Not only are these pieces a anti corporate America...but they pay my respect and homage to the great comic book artists at that time...If you have never seen the covers...or there work...check them out...Google EC Comics...

the titled perspective of your self portrait, would be amazing, if you painted yourself as Ronald McDonald.

Haven't many people said, Isaac Singer among them, "we are whom we hate?" so to befriend, even become the enemy...through painting...is a thought-

and what are the surfaces on these? I can see stacked paint, knifed, 5 inches thick--belying the flatness of the comix!

So many possibilities, it's great to have this kind of direction to explore.

but I am curious about the ways you intersect w/ corporate culture that you hate...because it's hard to avoid, eh?
